about.

Diana Matsepuro trained as a cultural anthropologist, video producer, and documentary film director. In the summer of 2021, she moved to New York City to study visual anthropology at NYU. She worked in the non-profit film production company, Birds Nest Productions, where she directed and produced an experimental documentary film about birds in NYC.

She just finished working on a short documentary "Some Place Home" about the phenomena of emptiness in Eastern Europe, Chernobyl nuclear accident, home, and sense of belonging. The film was released in May 2023 and recently was selected for the Visiones Unicas category of the MIRADA CORTA film festival in Mexico city.

Before she came to the U.S. she studied and worked in South Korea and still finds passion and a lot of inspiration in Asian cultures. In Korea, she conducted interviews and produced an ethnographic video project about migrants and their cultural adaptation process. She speaks three languages: Russian, Korean, and English, and does different other kinds of art, including photography, sculpture, and illustration.
